GENERAL INFO ABOUT EACH Stainless Steel Strip GRADE

310/310S stainless steel strip is a multi-purpose austenitic heat resistant stainless steel with high chromium and nicke. It is great ductility, oxidation resistance and good aqueous corrosion resistance, making it become the ideal choice for projects that require service at high temperature corrosion resistant applications.

  • Hot Forming
  • Cold Forming
  • Welding

310/310S Stainless Steel Grade:

Heat uniformly at 1742 – 2192°F (950 – 1200°C). After hot forming a final anneal at 1832 – 2101°F (1000 – 1150°C) followed by rapid quenching is recommended.

310/310S Stainless Steel Grade:

Cold forming of pieces with long-term exposure to high temperatures is not recommended since the grade is subject to carbide precipitation.

310/310S Stainless Steel Grade:

It can be welded by most standard processesincluding TIG, PLASMA, MIG, SMAW, SAW and FCAW.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT EACH Stainless Steel Strip PROCESS

  • Hot Rolled
  • Cold Rolled

Hot rolling is a metalworking process. Such as steel ingots or billets are difficult to deform and process at room temperature, they are generally heated to 1100 to 1250° for rolling, this rolling process is called hot rolling. Most steel materials are rolled by hot rolling, the steel delivered in the hot-rolled state has a certain degree of corrosion resistance due to the high temperature, so it can bestored in the open air. In addition, hot rolling is that it can destroy the casting structure of the ingot, refine the grain of the steel, eliminate structural defects, make the steel structure dense,  and improve the hardness of the hot rolled steel.

Cold rolling refers to a rolling process that uses the pressure of rolls to squeeze steel to change the shape of the steel at room temperature. The advantafe of cold rolling is fast forming speed, high output, the coating is not damaged, and it can be made into a variety of cross-sectional forms to meet the needs of the use conditions. In addition, cold rolling can cause large plastic deformation of the steel, thereby increasing the yield point of the steel. Which is Widely used in home appliances and other industries.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT EACH Stainless Steel Strip SURFACE

  • NO.1
  • 2D
  • 2B
  • NO.4
  • BA
  • HL
  • Mirror
NO.1 surface treated by heat treatment and pickling after hot rolling. The  appearance is silver white, matt and bright. This surface is suitable for industries that require heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and the surface brightness is not important. Common applications include industrial tank and chemical industrial plants etc..
2D surface treated by heat treatment and pickling after cold rolling. The appearance is silver white, smoother but of matt grain. Common applications include petrochemical production equipment, automotive components, building materials and water pipes etc..
After 2D treatment, the final process is lightly cold rolled by a polishing roller to obtain proper gloss. The appearance is smooth and bright, and easy to re-grind to make the surface more brighter.  Common applications include building materials, tableware etc..
NO.4 is a product ground with a grinding belt of size 150-180. It has better gloss, discontinuous rough lines and finer stripes than No.3 stainless steel castings commonly used polished and sanded surfaces. Common applications include food processing equipment, home electrical products, medical equipment etc..
BA surface is also produced by cold rolling and de-scaling. It has excellent surface gloss, high reflectivity. In addition, The very smooth surface also makes this surface highly suitable for further finishing processes such as mirror polishing and chrome plating. Common applications include catering equipment etc..
HL use a polishing abrasive belt with an appropriate particle size (150-320 mesh) to grind, with obvious straight stripes. The surface is beautiful, good texture and scratch is not obvious, durable,  wear-resistant. Common applications include building decoratio, elevators, vehicle parts, etc..
Mirror is produced by polishing with successively finer abrasives and buffing extensively until all grit lines from preliminary grinding operations are removed. The feature is highest reflectivity. Mainly used for interior and exterior decoration materials of automobiles and buildings.

What Is The Difference Between 310 And 310S?

Answer:

310S stainless steel has many of the same mechanical properties of 310 stainless steel, just contain lower levels of carbon. Lower carbon content is the only chemical difference between these two grades, leading 310S immune from sensitisation or grain boundary carbide precipitation, and easier to machine.

How Determine The Stainless Steel Grade For Your Needs?

Answer:

Magnetic Response — Some types of stainless steel grade are more magnetic than others. Adding chromium to a stainless steel tends to make it more magnetic, but adding nickel offsets or even eliminates the magnetism. Grade 310 are non-magnetic.

What Does It Mean To Be Austenitic?

Answer:

Austenitic stainless steels possess an austenitic microstructure. Their cells are in the shape of a cube with one atom at the corner of each cube and one in the middle. In crystallography, this is known as a face-centered crystal structure.Type 310/310S is a austenitic stainless steels, this grade has a high chromium and medium nickel content that makes it highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. It is used for high temperature applications.
