GENERAL INFO ABOUT EACH Stainless Steel Plate GRADE

321/321H stainless steel plate is  a austenitic stainless steel gtades with titanium. It is quite ductile and forms easily in cold forming process. If hot forming is required, other alternative materials is recommended to consider. 321/321H stainless steel can be polished to some degree but is not recommended for decorative applications. It is commonly used in heat exchangers, even the aerospace industry.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT EACH Stainless Steel Plate PROCESS

  • Hot Rolled
  • Cold Rolled
  • Forged

Hot rolling is a metalworking process. Such as steel ingots or billets are difficult to deform and process at room temperature, they are generally heated to 1100 to 1250° for rolling, this rolling process is called hot rolling. Most steel materials are rolled by hot rolling, the steel delivered in the hot-rolled state has a certain degree of corrosion resistance due to the high temperature, so it can bestored in the open air. In addition, hot rolling is that it can destroy the casting structure of the ingot, refine the grain of the steel, eliminate structural defects, make the steel structure dense,  and improve the hardness of the hot rolled steel.

Cold rolling refers to a rolling process that uses the pressure of rolls to squeeze steel to change the shape of the steel at room temperature. The advantafe of cold rolling is fast forming speed, high output, the coating is not damaged, and it can be made into a variety of cross-sectional forms to meet the needs of the use conditions. In addition, cold rolling can cause large plastic deformation of the steel, thereby increasing the yield point of the steel. Which is Widely used in home appliances and other industries.

According to the forging temperature, forging can be classified into hot forging, cold forging and warm forging. Hot forging is the most widely used forging process. In hot forging process, the recrystallization accompanying the high temperatures and enhanced formability enables a precise adjustment of very fine-grained microstructure. Strength-durability combinations can be specified more so than in any other forming process. Which is predominantly used for aerospace industry.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT EACH Stainless Steel Plate SURFACE

  • NO.1
  • 2D
  • 2B
  • NO.4
  • BA
  • HL
  • Mirror
NO.1 surface treated by heat treatment and pickling after hot rolling. The  appearance is silver white, matt and bright. This surface is suitable for industries that require heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and the surface brightness is not important. Common applications include industrial tank and chemical industrial plants etc..
2D surface treated by heat treatment and pickling after cold rolling. The appearance is silver white, smoother but of matt grain. Common applications include petrochemical production equipment, automotive components, building materials and water pipes etc..
After 2D treatment, the final process is lightly cold rolled by a polishing roller to obtain proper gloss. The appearance is smooth and bright, and easy to re-grind to make the surface more brighter.  Common applications include building materials, tableware etc..
NO.4 is a product ground with a grinding belt of size 150-180. It has better gloss, discontinuous rough lines and finer stripes than No.3 stainless steel castings commonly used polished and sanded surfaces. Common applications include food processing equipment, home electrical products, medical equipment etc..
BA surface is also produced by cold rolling and de-scaling. It has excellent surface gloss, high reflectivity. In addition, The very smooth surface also makes this surface highly suitable for further finishing processes such as mirror polishing and chrome plating. Common applications include catering equipment etc..
HL use a polishing abrasive belt with an appropriate particle size (150-320 mesh) to grind, with obvious straight stripes. The surface is beautiful, good texture and scratch is not obvious, durable,  wear-resistant. Common applications include building decoratio, elevators, vehicle parts, etc..
Mirror is produced by polishing with successively finer abrasives and buffing extensively until all grit lines from preliminary grinding operations are removed. The feature is highest reflectivity. Mainly used for interior and exterior decoration materials of automobiles and buildings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What Are The Classes Of Stainless Steel?
  • What Is The Difference Between 321 And 321H?
  • What Does H Grades Mean?

What Are The Classes Of Stainless Steel?

Answer:

Classes of stainless steel are organized by their crystalline structure, mainly divided into martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, duplex, and precipitation-hardening. Austenitic is the most common, 321/321H is one of the austenitic stainless steel.

What Is The Difference Between 321 And 321H?

Answer:

321H is the higher carbon version of the 321 stainless steel. The grade contains between 0.04% and 0.10% carbon. It was developed for enhanced creep resistance and for higher strength at temperatures above 1000°F.

What Does H Grades Mean?

Answer:

H grades can be used as standard grades as long as their carbon contents are 0.08% max. These grades are commonly used for applications that expose them to extreme temperature environments.
