Material

X39Cr13, 1.4031, S42040, S136, 4Cr13

Overview

X40Cr13 is a kind of martensitic stainless steel with good mechanical processing performance. After heat treatment (quenching and tempering), it has excellent corrosion resistance, polishing performance, high strength and wear resistance.

Characteristics

X40Cr13 has similar performance and usage to 3Cr13. Because of the higher carbon content, X40Cr13 after quenching strength, hardness and corrosion resistance is higher than 3Cr13. It generally has a hardness of over HRC48 and good corrosion resistance after quenching, but its toughness and corrosion resistance slightly lower.

Its welding performance is poor, so it usually can not be used as a welding part.

It has strong resistance to nitric and organic acids.

It has good oxidation resistance, can be used in 600~650℃ for a long time.

Application

(1) Suitable for high mirror high precision injection mold and cavity.

(2) Since of high hardness and toughness after heat treatment, it can be used for stamping mold accessories, templates, dinner tools, outdoor tools, surgical tools, medical scissors, cutting tools, etc.

(3) It can be used for hot oil pumps, valves, valves, bearings, nozzles, springs, etc., which require certain corrosion resistance.
