GENERAL INFO ABOUT EACH Nickel Alloy Plate GRADE

High-Temperature & Oxidation Resistance

Engineered with a precise balance of nickel, chromium, and aluminum, our Inconel 601 plates provide unparalleled metallurgical stability. They reliably withstand destructive oxidation, carbonization, and thermal cycling at elevated temperatures up to 1200°C (2200°F), ensuring a significantly longer service life in harsh industrial environments compared to standard stainless steel.

The alloy is highly suitable for extreme thermal environments, demonstrating outstanding stability at elevated temperatures up to 2200°F (1200°C). Its welding characteristics, especially its resistance to post-weld cracking and high-temperature cyclic oxidation, are exceptional. In addition, Inconel 601 can be fabricated with ease and economy, combined with superior tensile, fatigue, and creep strength, making it widely utilized in thermal processing and chemical engineering applications.

Inconel 600:

The recommended temperature range of normal hot-working is 1600° to 2250°F (870° to 1230°C), heavy hot-working is 1900° to 2250°F (1040° to 1230°C), light hot-working is down to 1600°F (870°C). It is important to note that Inconel 600 has low ductility at temperatures between 1200° and 1600°F (650° and 870°C) and should not be worked in that range. High tensile properties can be developed in the material by careful working at temperatures below 1200°F (650°C).

Inconel 625:

Inconel 625 can be cold-formed by standard processes. Increased tensile properties can be achieved by cold work for moderate temperature applications. Tensile strengths of more than 300,000 psi accompanied by good ductility have been developed in 0.010-0.020-in-diameter wire after 75-90% cold reduction.

Inconel 718:

Inconel 718 can be cold-formed by standard procedures used for steel and stainless steel.

Inconel 718:

Welding Inconel 718 requires specific considerations and techniques due to its unique metallurgical properties. For the selection of welding consumables, it is recommended to use AWS A5.14 ERNiFeCr-2, ERNiFeCr-1 and other nickel-based filler metals specially designed for Inconel 718. These filler metals can offer excellent compatibility and mechanical properties when used with Alloy 718.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT EACH Nickel Alloy Plate SURFACE

  • NO.1
  • 2D
  • 2B
  • NO.4
  • BA
  • HL
  • Mirror
NO.1 surface treated by heat treatment and pickling after hot rolling. The  appearance is silver white, matt and bright. This surface is suitable for industries that require heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and the surface brightness is not important. Common applications include industrial tank and chemical industrial plants etc..
2D surface treated by heat treatment and pickling after cold rolling. The appearance is silver white, smoother but of matt grain. Common applications include petrochemical production equipment, automotive components, building materials and water pipes etc..
After 2D treatment, the final process is lightly cold rolled by a polishing roller to obtain proper gloss. The appearance is smooth and bright, and easy to re-grind to make the surface more brighter.  Common applications include building materials, tableware etc..
NO.4 is a product ground with a grinding belt of size 150-180. It has better gloss, discontinuous rough lines and finer stripes than No.3 stainless steel castings commonly used polished and sanded surfaces. Common applications include food processing equipment, home electrical products, medical equipment etc..
BA surface is also produced by cold rolling and de-scaling. It has excellent surface gloss, high reflectivity. In addition, The very smooth surface also makes this surface highly suitable for further finishing processes such as mirror polishing and chrome plating. Common applications include catering equipment etc..
HL use a polishing abrasive belt with an appropriate particle size (150-320 mesh) to grind, with obvious straight stripes. The surface is beautiful, good texture and scratch is not obvious, durable,  wear-resistant. Common applications include building decoratio, elevators, vehicle parts, etc..
Mirror is produced by polishing with successively finer abrasives and buffing extensively until all grit lines from preliminary grinding operations are removed. The feature is highest reflectivity. Mainly used for interior and exterior decoration materials of automobiles and buildings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How Should Inconel 600 Plates Be Stored And Handled?
  • What Are The Cost Considerations For Inconel 600 Plates?
  • Are There Any Special Maintenance Requirements For Inconel 625 Plates?
  • How Does The Precipitation Hardening Process Affect Inconel 718 Plates?

How Should Inconel 600 Plates Be Stored And Handled?

Answer:

Inconel 600 plates should be stored in a clean, dry environment to prevent contamination and surface damage. Protective coatings or coverings can be used during storage and transportation to maintain the quality of the material. Handling should be done with care to avoid scratches or impacts that could compromise the surface finish, especially in applications where appearance and integrity are critical.

What Are The Cost Considerations For Inconel 600 Plates?

Answer:

Inconel 600 plates are more expensive than standard carbon steel plates due to their advanced properties and raw material costs. The price can vary based on thickness, dimensions, and supplier specifications. It’s important to balance the cost against the long-term benefits, such as durability, reduced maintenance, and resistance to extreme conditions, which often justify the initial investment in high-performance applications.

Are There Any Special Maintenance Requirements For Inconel 625 Plates?

Answer:

Inconel 625 plates generally require minimal maintenance due to their inherent corrosion resistance and durability. However, regular inspections are recommended to ensure that no external factors, such as accumulated debris or chemical exposure, have compromised their performance. In harsh environments, periodic cleaning with appropriate agents may be necessary to remove contaminants and maintain the alloy's effectiveness.

How Does The Precipitation Hardening Process Affect Inconel 718 Plates?

Answer:

The precipitation hardening process significantly enhances the mechanical properties of Inconel 718 plates by forming gamma prime (γ') and gamma double prime (γ'') phases, which improve tensile strength and creep resistance. This aging treatment allows Inconel 718 to maintain stability at high temperatures, making it ideal for applications requiring superior strength and deformation resistance under extreme mechanical loads. This property is crucial for industries like aerospace and power generation, where reliable performance is mandatory.
